Obituary for Leslie Anson Miller

Leslie Miller’s passing on April 9, 2019 was sudden and unexpected, he was 56 years old. Les was born September 3, 1962 in Crescent City, California.

Les was a jack of all trades. He was a baker and prep cook at Glenn’s Bakery, a fisherman and crabber, He worked for Caltrans as a flagger. During his time in construction he helped build Kmart, Walmart, Sutter Coast Hospital, the Prison, along with several other buildings throughout Crescent City.
When he worked for the Forest service Les could tell you the difference between any tree, mushroom and bird call. Les fought forest fires and cleared trails. He was also able to travel to many states during his time working for a disaster relief program cleaning up fires and hurricane relief. Les specialized in his chainsaw by topping and dismantling trees, logging, and art carving.

He was an amazing husband, father, grandpop, brother, son, uncle, and friend who was loved by all. Les was always positive and would make friends instantly with everyone. His smile was infectious, and he would brighten everyone’s day with a laugh. He adored his family and cherished his friends. People from all over the world fell in love with Les, he knew this because, they would ship him packages with gifts of thanks, most of which were Tampa Bay Buccaneer memorabilia.

Les was a wonderful, caring, and hardworking man. He was renowned for his chainsaw wood carving, surfing, tree climbing, and his passion of being a Buccaneer’s fan. His grandchildren were his heart and joy. He would show anyone and everyone the latest photo of his grandchildren with pride. There’s no denying that being a Grandpop was the most fulfilling part of his life.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne, daughters Brandy Webb, Charity & Brandon Moore, Tiffany Miller & John Souza. Mother Patsy Miller, brother Rick & Lori Miller, brother Steve Miller, sister Julie Helm, sister Kari & John Silva, granddaughter Zylynn Moore, grandson Atreyu Moore, numerous relatives that include his cousins, nieces, nephews, and his dearly loved in-laws, Betty Brown, Etta & Gary, Nieca Wright, Earl & Janelle Brown, Charlie Brown, Arthena & Niano Santos, Roy Brown, and tons of nieces and nephews.
