Obituary for Lucretia Jean Wilson

“Tootsie” Lucretia Jean Wilson was born June 11th,1953 in Northern California. She lived almost her entire life in Del Norte County, until losing a courageous, over 3 decades long, battle with multiple sclerosis. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends, just the way she wanted it. Those she left behind are comforted by knowing that she is once again rounding the bases, this time in heaven.

Lucretia married Joe in 1975 and stepped in to be a mother to Joey Jr. When she was still able to get around, Lucretia was Joe’s biggest cheerleader at the racetrack. They dedicated years together at softball games where she was a fiercely respected athlete to her softball buddies.

They enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling in search of antiques, going on cruises and visiting family all over the country. Together they turned their property into a park with flowers and landscaping that welcomed family every year for huge reunions.

She not only was an amazing homemaker, but she also continued as the bookkeeper for their family business, Wilson’s Auto Repair until only a few weeks before her passing. Her greatest pleasures were spending time with family and doing everything she was able to with the love of her life, Joe.

Tootsie is survived by her husband Joseph Wilson Sr., son, Joseph Wilson Jr., daughter-in-law Alicia Wilson, grandchildren: Spring, Paizly and Creek Wilson. Her two sisters: Cheryl and Barbara; siblings-in-law: Don, George, Mike, Sue, and Kenny. Many nieces and nephews including Debbie, Scott, Cathy, Cory, Joey, Eugene, Jamie, Francis, Rob, Jeff, Mike, Scott, Linda, Eric, Kandee, Kris, Rita, Kenny, Chad, and all of their children. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Lucretia’s life will be held at the family home in Crescent City on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 10:00 am, friends and family are all welcome to stay for food, games and fun in memory of Toots!
