Obituary

With great sadness we announce the death of Michael Svend Skudstad.

He was born October 26, 1949 to Harold and Lillian Skudstad in Seattle, Washington.

They moved to Cascade Locks, Oregon where Michael attended 1stgrade. A few years later they settled in Grants Pass, Oregon where Michael graduated from high school in 1967.

He has a younger sister, Dian Skudstad, and two younger brothers, Mark and Dan.

His next step was Southern Oregon College in Ashland, Oregon, until he joined the Army, serving in Vietnam. After finishing his service he returned to Southern Oregon College, where he met his wife Lyn Huddleston. They married in 1974 and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in order to attend Grace Bible College. He graduated from there receiving his Bachelor of Theology. During that time he was a youth pastor at North Park Presbyterian Church.

Their next move was to Muskegon, Michigan where he pastored a Community church. When that service was completed they returned to Grants Pass, Oregon to work in the family business for 5 years. The next step in his journey took him to Simon Greenleaf School of Law where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence. During that time he pastored a community church in Downey, California. They were blessed with 3 children while they were there: Sarah Lyn Skudstad Collins, Connor Svend Skudstad, and Graham Svend Skudstad. In 1998 they moved to Crescent City to start a law practice and to be closer to family in Grants Pass.

In addition to his wife, children, and siblings, he left behind his son in law Rocky Collins and daughter in law Hannah Skudstad and granddaughter Evelyn Joy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Until the end, Michael always had time to pursue his passion for teaching Bible study.
