Traditional Honors
This typically includes the paying of Taps by a bugler or recording, the folding of the American flag, and the presentation of the flag to the family. The ceremony may also include a rifle salute, conducted by a military honor guard.
Benefits for Veterans
In addition to coordinating honors related to the service itself, we can help you communicate with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to arrange for:
- Burial in a National Cemetery: Eligible veterans can be buried in a national cemetery at no cost, with their spouse and eligible dependents.
- Reimbursement of burial expenses: For information on eligibility and levels of potential reimbursement, please review the Guide to VA Burial Allowances here
- Headstones and Markers: Veterans are entitled to a government-issued headstone or marker, which can be placed at their gravesite to honor their service.
- Memorial Plots: If an eligible veteran’s remains are not available for burial, the VA will provide a plot and headstone or marker in a national cemetery for memorialization.
- Full Military Honors (in addition to standard honors)
- Presidential Memorial Certificate: Families may request a certificate signed by the President of the United States as a tribute to the veteran’s service.
