‘Laura Lee Throop was born in Crescent City, CA. on August 28, 1954 and passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023 surrounded by those who loved her dearly. Laura was 68 years old and 5 days shy of her 69th birthday.
Laura was more fondly known by her loved ones as Schnookums, Mamacita, and Nannie. She was an extraordinary woman who was adored by everyone who knew her. She recently became a great grandmother and was extremely proud of the title. She poured her heart into her family and made sure those around her felt loved. She will be remembered for many wonderful things, but especially her gentle and loving soul.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Bernard Governor, brothers Bernard Governor Jr., Gene Governor, Jack Governor, sisters Laverne Coplin, Sallie Maponoa, Mary Northern, and Lois Urquhart.
Laura is survived by her husband William Throop, daughter Karen Castro, son Phillip Moseley Jr., sister Margaret Swinger, grandchildren Karina Moseley, Alex Moseley, Kelly Osterholz, Allison Moseley, Charles Moseley, Phoebe Moseley, Maddie Moseley, Jack Moseley, and great grandson Jett Turner.
Laura was the matriarch of her family. She was loved immensely and will be sorely missed. Her family finds solace knowing she is now in heaven, reconnected with her family that passed on before her, and watching over those of us left behind.’
