Norman or Norm, as his friends called him, was a Navy veteran that enjoyed traveling the world as he served his country. As a young child of an Officer in the Army, he spent his younger years traveling the world as an Army brat. He had lots of great stories and loved to share them. After moving to Crescent City, California, he continued to give back to his community volunteering at Pelican Bay Prison as a Chaplin. Norm loved sharing the word of God and teaching his word.
In his hay days, you could find Norm and his band in local honky-tonk bars delighting crowds with authentic old-style country and western music. Singing was Norms passion, and you could hear it in his songs. Later, you could find Norm and his wife singing in his church choir.
He was loved by many. Everyone he met became an instant friend. He had a way of making you feel special. He loved to tell corny jokes and could always pick you up if you were down. He loved the outdoors and loved to spend time with his friends. A good day for Norm is catching crab off the B Street pier and feeding the ground squirrels nuts off his lap. He enjoyed life and sharing his stories with old friends and acquaintances.
Norm will be remembered on September 9, 2024, at 1:30pm at Front Street Park in Crescent City, California.
