Veronica Marie Engel-Kraft-Albrecht, 85, peacefully passed away on August 16, 2012 at her daughters home in Klamath, CA. She was born September 20, 1926, Gettysburg South Dakota.
Veronica attended school at Hoven, South Dakota and graduated from nursing school at Pierre South Dakota in 1951 as a LPN, she worked 3 years at Immaculate Conception Indian School in Stephan, South Dakota.
In 1951 Veronica married John A Kraft who passed away in 1953 in a car accident. In 1954 she married Emanuel C Albrecht at Bismarck North Dakota, they were married for 35 years.
Veronica moved to Del Norte County in 1955 and received her California nursing license as a LVN in 1967, working at Seaside Hospital for 18 years.
Veronica was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was previously active in Girl Scouting, volunteering at the food bank, belonged to TOPS Chapter 388 and an AARP member.
Survivors include daughters Myra and Ben Webster of Klamath, CA, Myrna and Bill Hyatt of Eagle Point, OR; sisters Mary and Celestine Barondeau of SD, Theresa and Francis Kirby of SD; sister in law Rosemary Engel of MN; brothers Anthony Engel of Maryland, Patrick and Crystal Engel of TX and Edward and Grace Engel of AZ; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husbands John Kraft and Emanuel Albrecht; son Charles Albrecht; brothers Francis Engel, Vincent Engel and Lawrence Engel.
