Obituary

Beverly Jeanne Snodgrass (Beatty) was called home September 3, 2026, to join the

was the daughter of Richard William Beatty and Virginia Rose Smith and was born on
April 12, 1938, in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. Her brother, Richard Beatty, preceded
her in death on April 27, 2025.

Charley and Bev settled in Garberville, Humboldt, California after they married and
moved to Crescent City, Del Norte, California in 1961. Many knew her as the “cookie
lady”, as she worked at Glen’s Bakery for 32 years. She was a wonderful seamstress
and made her children beautiful clothes. She also loved embroidery, cross-stitching,
quilting, and making Christmas ornaments.

She is survived by her children: Deborah J Snodgrass of Crescent City, CA; Cynthia L
(Bob) Burns of Rock Springs, WY; Charles A (Tony) (Renee) Snodgrass of Crescent
City, CA and Terri L (Sid) Custer of Crescent City, CA. She is also survived by her
grandchildren: Scott M Jones (Juanita) of Junction City, KS; Michael R Burns (Randi) of
Green River, WY; David W Burns (Sarah) of Rock Springs, WY; Terri L Miller (Adam) of
Rock Springs, WY; Bradley W Snodgrass (Rachel) of Birch Tree, MO, and Kelsey L Bell
of Portland, OR. (Her grandson, JC Bell, preceded her in death on May 20, 2022);
twenty great-grandchildren, and ten great, great grandchildren. Also, her best friend of
over 50 years, Jean King.

She requested no services and will be interred with her husband in the 100F Odd
Fellows Cemetery in Crescent City CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations
to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I remember spending lots of time at Bev and Charley's house as a child. Bev made all of my Barbie clothes and the most beautiful baby blanket for my son Chase. I still have all of them. I remember going to Glen's Bakery and seeing her every time I went to get pink cookies. Not long ago, I dropped off some Christmas cookies because my Mom said Bev loved them and wanted to make sure she got some every year. Bev was like family and I'm going to miss talking to her when I'm home visiting. She was a wonderful person and an amazing friend to my Mom ❤️ Terri King
Sending my sympathy to the whole family but especially to Terri my bestie of over 50 years. RIP Beverly, you will be missed Mary Wheeler
Your mother was always such an upbeat pleasant person when visiting Glen's Bakery. My condolences to your family.
