In Loving Memory Of

Dwayne Reigle Siex

January 12th, 1940 - August 3rd, 2023

Obituary

Dwayne Reigle Siex, 83, after a valiant battle with cancer is now home safe in Heaven as of August 3rd, 2023. Dwayne was born January 12, 1940, in Milledgeville, Illinois, to parents Arthur and Lenore Siex. He had an older brother, Ronnie, who survives.
Dwayne graduated Oregon High School, 1958, in Oregon, Illinois. He attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. He married his one and only sweetheart, Tamara June Thompson, December 20, 1958, in Dixon, ILL. They moved to Ames, Iowa, where he graduated from Iowa State University 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.

He moved his family of five to California where he began a job that would last 31 years with the US Forest Service. They started out in Greenville, but there were many moves after that, following his goal to be a Forest Ranger - Forbestown, Brownsville, Challenge, Happy Camp, then Fall City, Washington. In 1980, they returned to California, living in Crescent City for 43 years and working from Gasquet.
His work life was spent in the forest, but he also enjoyed being out in the woods during time off. He liked to load up the family to dig for old antique bottles or get firewood. Later, he enjoyed big hiking trips and taking long bike rides around the neighborhood. Every Sunday and most Wednesdays were spent in church.

Dwayne was a true Christian. He stood for the Lord in every situation. He began his day with the Bible and prayer. He and Tamara prayed every day for every member of their family. They were faithful in church, and in giving. He had a special interest in sharing how God’s Creation was so amazing! Dwayne had life-saving surgery March 2022, and Tamara was by his side every day, helping in the most stressful of situations.

Dwayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tamara; his brother, Ronnie (Linda) Siex, three children: Sonia (Russ) Gibson, Todd (Deona) Siex, and Wende (Jan) Helligso. Eight grandchildren: Danny, Kelcie, Hannah, Darcee, Aubri, Dayne, Scott, Holli, Andrew. Dwayne and Tamara were also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren, one of whom, Avari, was already there to meet him!
A memorial service is being arranged.

Dwayne’s deepest desire was to have everyone know his Heavenly Father, and his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and have the assurance of eternal life in Heaven! John 3:16
