Jimmy Garland Cadjew passed suddenly and unexpectedly on January 30th, 2025, in Crescent City, Del Norte County, California. He was born to Lila Jean Brown Cadjew and Herbert Ralph Cadjew on February 24th, 1959.
Jimmy was born in Texas and moved around with his family to several states, including Arkansas, California, New Mexico, and Texas. Throughout his younger years making friends and leaving his mark on each place he lived. He planted all the trees on the Arkansas State Capitol’s lawn, he excelled at being one of the youngest Boy Scouts to become an Eagle Scout with honors like being tapped out, in the Order of the Arrow. Jimmy played the only trumpet solo in the 1976 Rose Bowl Parade for the Concord High School Minute Men Band.
He attended University of Davis in hopes of becoming a veterinarian, considering his love for all animals and his continuous desire to always help others, whether they walked on two legs or four. Not only did he strive to be the best at everything he did, when he loved, it was with breath of his being and every spark of his soul.
Jimmy brought a smile to the face of anyone he ever met, would give a complete stranger his last dime, could fix absolutely anything, and gave so many others his entire world without asking or getting anything in return. Throughout his short-lived time on this Earth, he stole the hearts of so many, always leaving a forever lasting imprint in everyone’s lives that he touched.
He had an older brother, Leslie Ralph Cadjew, who was married to LaRenda and then his second, Tonya, who passed in September of 2022, an adopted brother, Kent Burrow and his wife Becky, who reside in Grants Pass Oregon, a younger brother, Greg Davis Cadjew, that lives in Abilene, Texas, with his wife Michele, and his younger sister, Rea Ann Cadjew Beard, who moved to Crescent City from Oklahoma a few years ago to be closer to her ”Bobo” and to support him after he separated from his partner, Linda Pinter. He never had children of his own, although he did spend the majority of his adult years and life partnering to raise his two stepdaughters, Isha Pinter and Tasha Riddle, who blessed him with his grandchildren, Jagger, Jalen, Ayla, Mirra, Lennon and Rhyn.
Jimmy also had many cousins, friends, co-workers, nieces, nephews, dogs and cats and family members, who all shared a special place in his heart and life. He will be at home now and will never hurt or be broken hearted anymore because of our loved ones who met and welcomed him into Heaven with open arms! So now he is with our mom who will hold him in her arms and keep him safe from now on. Jim was a giver always wanting to help others, never asking anything of anybody.
He loved his family with every beat of his enormous heart and gave everything he had to give, always. All of the kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and every other kid he came into contact with, were the light of his life. Jimmy was an amazing man, brother, father figure, son, uncle, Papa, partner and friend.
He enjoyed going to work, his co-workers and has always worked in the Healthcare Industry as an Maintenance Engineer employed with Crescent City Convalescent Center, then he moved to Sutter Coast Hospital for the past 18+ years where he loved going to work, adored the individuals that he shared 8 hours + of his day with and thought very highly of the amazing people who he considered the other half of his family. He was a hard worker and loved his job and doing everything he could to help others and care for them any way he could.
He loved music, dancing, outdoors, natures, all of God’s beautiful creatures, living life, sports, cooking out and spending time with loved ones. He adored his Batman and Wee and looked forward to the time he spent picking on them and loving them daily no matter what they had done. Jimmy aka: Bobo, will be missed by all and we can cherish the time we each shared with him knowing he was the best human and friend anyone could ever be blessed with having in their lives. Forever in our hearts he will be!
