Lynne Diane Parker, age 86, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 27th in Crescent City, CA.
Lynne was born on July 16, 1936 in Eureka, CA to Everett & Clarice Havemann. Lynne graduated from Eureka High School in 1954. In 1955 she married the love of her life, Carol D. Parker, on October 15th in Eureka; they had 67 wonderful years together. In 1972, Lynne and Carol moved to Crescent City.
Many people in Del Norte County came to know the name ‘Lynne Parker’ and with good reason. A long time member of the Coast Redwoods Art Association, Lynne was a renowned and prolific scenic and wildlife artist that spent half her lifetime translating the beauty and nature around her to canvas. Lynne was forever inspired by the wildlife, redwoods and tranquility of coastal living.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Lynne had great wisdom; she was caring and patient and devoted to her family. Lynne was beautiful inside and out. She had great style; she loved fashion and kept a beautiful home. Her love of animals, especially dogs, knew no bounds.
Lynne loved collecting antiques and exploring shops for the next treasure. She was an avid gardener, cultivating her own fuchsia garden that included many rare specimens.
Lynne also loved to travel, taking many amazing trips over the years that took her all over the world and whether on a cruise, on a river boat or on a land tour, she was ready for an adventure!
Lynne is survived by her husband Carol Parker, her daughter, Diana Parker of San Francisco, and her son and daughter-in-law Rick and Donna Parker (née Van Matre) of Crescent City and her beautiful Sheltie, Ben-G.
Lynne will be very missed!
No service is planned. If you are so inclined, donations in Lynne’s name would be welcome to Coast Redwoods Art Association and/or Del Norte Animal Control.
