Marian Frances
Barnts was born on April 3, 1927, in Sodaville, Oregon, to Francis
and Reha (Baker)
Kau. She grew up with two brothers and a sister. Marian’s life
was filled with love
for her family, and she was surrounded by them at the time of
her passing on March
14, 2026.
Career and Community
Involvement
Marian owned and
operated the Koffee Kup in Crescent City for over 30 years,
serving her
community with dedication. She was an active member of local
organizations,
serving as president of the Crescent City Emblem Club and
president of
Crescent Bowl. After retiring, Marian moved to Stayton, Oregon, in
2002.
Personal Interests
Marian enjoyed a
variety of hobbies throughout her life. She had a passion for
crafts, baking, and
traveling. Bowling was one of her favorite activities, which she
continued to enjoy
until the age of 90.
Family and Legacy
Marian is preceded
in death by her son, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by
her children: Myrlene (Gale) Holfert, Dixie (Guy) Barth, and
Vicky (Jerry)
Bergquist; her sister Janet Bevens; and her brother Ace Kau. Marian
leaves behind a
large and loving family, including seven grandchildren, seventeen
great-grandchildren,
and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Gratitude and
Services
The family wishes to
express their gratitude to Serenity Hospice for the wonderful
care they provided
to Marian. Services to honor her memory will be held at a later
date in Crescent
City, California. Arrangements are being handled by Wiers
Mortuary.
