Obituary

Robert Carl Langford (Bob), born May 18, 1939, passed away on the 28th of September. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, courage, and hard work that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Bob was preceded in death by a sister Deanna, his father Dean, his mother Edwina and his wives, Sheri, Judy and Lucy.

Though life presented him with profound loss and challenge, he met each obstacle with steadfast determination and an unshakable spirit.

A natural athlete, Bob distinguished himself as a talented boxer during high school, later competing in Humboldt County, Del Norte County, and Jackson County. At just 13years old, his adventurous drive was evident when he competed in the Daredevil Boat Race from Yreka to Klamath- a grueling, 176-mile journey that showcased both his endurance and fearlessness.

Bob dedicated more than five decades of his life to the logging industry as a skilled timber faller, eventually owning and operating his own logging company. His work was more than just a career it was a calling, and he pursued it with pride and excellence.

His family knew great hardship, losing their home first to the 1955 Klamath River flood, then again to another flood in 1964. True to his nature, Bob rebuilt, persevered and forged ahead to create a fulfilling life.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bob took joy in deer hunting bird hunting, and fishing. He was a voracious reader, exploring a wide range of literary genres, his favorite being westerns.

Bob is survived by his beloved brother Tom Langford, his lifelong best friends Gale Baker, Henry Babich, and Walt Lara, his cherished children, Deanna, Leanna, Missy, Bobbi, Becky, Robin, Haley, and Sam.

His family and friends will remember him for his resilience, generosity, and unwavering spirit-a man who lived fully, worked hard, and faced life with courage. Services will be at the Elk Valley Rancheria, 2332 Howland Hill Road, Crescent City, CA 95531, 11am on November 8th.
