Obituary

Sandra “Sandy” Myers, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, in Crescent City, California, at the age of 77. Born on August 25, 1946, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
Sandy’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family and her community.
She is survived by her husband James “Nick” Myers, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage, son, Mark Myers (Laura), daughter, Vickie Myers-Rondeau (Tommy). She also loved her role as a stepmother to Tavia Torkelson (Wayne) and Terri Winnie (Loran). Her brother, Daniel (Jan), held a special place in her heart. Sandy’s legacy continues through her 11+ grandchildren and 23+ great-grandchildren.

Professionally, Sandy’s warmth and kindness touched many lives. She began her career as a waitress at the Coffee Cup. She then transitioned to the banking industry, where she served as a bank teller at First Interstate and United California Bank before retiring from Wells Fargo after 20 years of dedicated service. Even in retirement, Sandy continued to work for a few years at Elk Valley Casino.
Sandy’s interests and activities reflected her love for people and her zest for life. She was involved in Emblem for over 50 years, serving as an officer and participating in several committees. Her commitment to the organization was a reflection of her desire to contribute to the well-being of her community. Sandy’s adventurous spirit shone brightly through her road trips with friends in the Scramblers Motorcycle Club, where she forged lasting bonds and created countless cherished memories.

Family gatherings at the R Ranch were among Sandy’s most treasured moments. She enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren whether riding horses or swimming in the pool, the new friends she made while playing a friendly game of cards she treasured everyone of them. Sandy’s life was beautifully woven with love, service, and friendship. Her impact on the lives she touched is immeasurable, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to Sandra Myers, we celebrate a life lived with grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
